For Quick Gray Coverage: Express Touch-Up

This is your staple service. When clients want a simple, straightforward root touch-up that covers every last gray, go for a T-line application with Koleston Xpress. This means focusing on the front hairline and part line, ensuring you use your tint brush to really saturate strands.

Step 1: Mix your client’s perfect Koleston Xpress Shade 1:1 with Welloxon Perfect 6%, and paint through the hairline and part line until regrowth is fully covered.

Step 2: Immediately after applying Koleston Xpress, give the mid-lengths and ends a Shinefinity Color Glaze. Here, you’re seeing the shade 08/38, applied with the Brush & Bowl Activator. Process for 10 minutes.

Step 3: Rinse out color formulas, then complete the service with ColorMotion+ Post Treatment and ULTIMATE REPAIR Shampoo. Follow with ULTIMATE REPAIR Conditioner and ULTIMATE REPAIR Miracle Hair Rescue.

For a Boost of Brightness: On the Glow

For clients who crave radiance, team a Koleston Xpress root touch-up with highlights around the face. The Wella Professionals portfolio has you covered, allowing you to touch up, lift and tone in one express appointment.

Step 1: Sweep BlondorPlex Multi Blonde Dust Free Powder Lightener + Welloxon Perfect 6% through the face-framing layers. You’ll need around six foils to lift and lighten around the hairline.

Step 2: While the foils are processing, apply your client’s chosen Koleston Xpress shade to the regrowth area. Begin the application where you see the highest percentage of gray.

Step 3: Once the lightener and root touch-up have developed, rinse and cleanse, then treat hair to the Service Color Post Treatment. Apply it to damp hair, leave it on for three to five minutes, then rinse thoroughly.

Step 4: Follow up with Shinefinity for extra glow and translucent color. Here, you’re seeing a mix of 09/61 + 09/36 to give highlights a cool vanilla sheen.

Step 5: Finish with the perfect shampoo and conditioner combination for your client, then dry and style as desired.

For Dimension Around the Face: Flash Framing

Another way to get a glow is with an express face frame, featuring root touch-up and balayage ribbons that seamlessly blend for a sun-kissed look. Ideal for the summer months, this is a quick and easy way for your client to embrace a lighter color.

Step 1: Touch up regrowth with Koleston Xpress first. Apply it to the root area, allow it to develop for 10 minutes, then rinse and shampoo with ULTIMATE REPAIR Shampoo. Follow with ColorMotion+ Post Treatment.

Step 2: Continue the service at the basin. Apply face frame balayage with Blondor Freelights + Blondor Freelights Developer 9%, mixed at a 1:1.5 ratio. This should be feathered through clean, damp hair to achieve a soft, seamless finish.

Step 3: Cleanse hair and treat with Service Color Post Treatment. Then, amp up the shine with a Shinefinity Color Glaze. In the look above, 09/36 + 09/81 were mixed to create a glossy blonde tone.

Step 4: Complete the service by shampooing and conditioning hair. Style in loose waves to enhance that beachy, sun-kissed vibe.
